LB Books is committed to protecting your privacy. This Policy explains when, how and why we collect personal information about people who visit our website, how we use it, when we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure. The Policy is effective from Feb 11th 2019, and incorporates the requirements of the European General Data Protection Regulation, (GDPR). We currently collect and process the following information:

We use cookies to track your use of our website. This enables us to understand how you use the site and track any patterns with regards how you are using our website. This helps us to develop and improve our website as well as products and / or services in response to what you might need or want.

How we get the information and why we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • To process an order that you have made

  • Banking details are securely requested by our payment partner and comply with If you make a purchase from us online, your card information is not held by us, but is collected by our third party payment processors, who specialise in the secure online capture and processing of credit/debit card transactions

What we do with the information we have

  • We use the information that you have given us in order to fulfil an order.

  • We shall not sell, rent or give your information to third parties.

How we store your information

  • Your information is securely stored on a secure computer .

  • When you give us personal information, we take steps to ensure that it is treated securely. When you are on a secure page, a lock icon will appear in the address bar of web browsers such as Internet Explorer. Non-sensitive details (your email address, etc.) are transmitted normally over the Internet, and this can never be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us, so you send such data at your own risk.

  • Once we receive your information, we make our best effort to ensure it is secure on our systems

  • We keep email address and postal address for 6 months. We will then dispose of your information by deletion of electronic and paper files.

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

  • Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.

  • Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

  • Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your information in certain circumstances.

  • Your right to object to processing - You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.

  • Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
